Concrete driveways
made for arriving.

A driveway carries cars, bins, deliveries and the first impression of a home. We plan it around how your site actually works, then shape the finish to suit the house it leads to.

The work / Overview

A driveway is one of the hardest-working surfaces on a property.

It takes vehicle loads every day, sheds water from the roof and street, and often meets a footpath, garage slab and garden edge all at once. Getting those junctions right matters as much as the surface itself.

We look at the fall of the land, where water needs to go, the vehicles that will use it and how the driveway should read against the facade. From there we can talk through finish options, from a plain broom texture to exposed aggregate, and what each will be like to live with.

We work with homeowners across Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Hunter and Central Coast.

Before we begin / Planning

What to
think about.

01Access and turning
Where vehicles enter, park and turn shapes the width, curves and any widened sections.
02Falls and drainage
Water should move away from the house and garage, toward an appropriate point, without pooling at the door.
03Connection to the street
Where a crossover or kerb is involved, council requirements can apply. We help you identify what needs checking early.
04Finish and grip
Texture affects slip resistance on slopes, how marks show and how the surface ages.
05Joints and edges
Planned control joints and clean edges help manage cracking and give the layout a tidy rhythm.
How it runs / Process

From first call
to handover.

Every site is different, so steps can shift. This is the usual shape of the work. Timing depends on the scope, the site and the weather.

  1. 01

    Conversation

You tell us about the property, the vehicles and what is not working now.

  2. 02

    Site look and measure

We review levels, existing surfaces, access for equipment and where water goes.

  3. 03

    Scope in writing

A clear outline of area, preparation, finish and anything that needs confirming before you commit.

  4. 04

    Preparation

Removal of any existing surface, excavation, base preparation, formwork and reinforcement as scoped.

  5. 05

    Pour and finish

Concrete is placed, levelled and finished to the agreed texture, then joints are cut or formed.

  6. 06

    Curing and handover

We explain when the driveway can take foot traffic and when it can take vehicles.

Common questions

Worth
asking.

Have a question that is not here? Ask it in your enquiry.

Can you remove my old driveway?

Often, yes. Removal and disposal of an existing surface can be included in the scope. We will confirm what is involved once we have seen the site.

How soon can I drive on it?

It depends on the mix, the weather and the finish. We give you specific guidance at handover rather than a one-size answer.

Which finish suits a sloping block?

Steeper driveways generally benefit from a textured finish for grip. We discuss options on site with your slope in mind.

Do I need council approval?

Some work, particularly crossovers and changes at the street boundary, may need council involvement. We will help you work out what to check with your local council.
